GENERAL PURPOSE: The DreamLab Associate supports the day-to-day operations of Girl Scouts of Colorado (GSCO)'s Girl Scout DreamLab in Denver, including customer service, program facilitation, facility upkeep, retail, and membership recruitment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ***(Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job)
· Welcome and assist all visitors, ensuring an inclusive and helpful experience.
· Manage reservations and support tours, events, and program setup/cleanup.
· Lead and support drop-in activities, badge workshops, open houses, and birthday parties.
· Promote upcoming programs and assist with reporting and partner-led sessions.
· Coordinate with internal teams to align with local program needs.
· Share consistent messaging about Girl Scouts programming, participation options, and membership registration.
· Prepare and maintain the facility for guest use, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
· Handle daily operations, including opening/closing responsibilities, mail, equipment checks, and security.
· Support retail sales, cash handling, and loss prevention.
· Operate Build-a-Bear (BAB) station and contribute to retail goals.
PRIMARY CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to promote DreamLab programs and reservations.
· Coordinate with Mission Delivery teams to align on membership initiatives, registration process, and program/training opportunities.
· Ensure compliance with GSCO policies and procedures.
· Support the efforts and commitments of Girl Scouts of Colorado in pluralism and diversity throughout the organization and within each community served.
· In accordance with the philosophy of Girl Scouts of Colorado, the person filling this position may occasionally be required to carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the duties listed on this job description.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Formal Training
· No formal education or training requirements.
Experience
· One year or more retail customer experience preferred but not required.
· Experience working with diverse populations of staff and volunteers.
· Experience working with youth preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
· Familiarity with visual merchandising and ability to follow brand guidelines.
· Experience with Point-of-Sale systems and inventory tools.
· Strong communication skills for engaging with staff, volunteers, and the public.
· Basic facility upkeep and housekeeping abilities.
· Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive problem-solver.
· Willingness to learn tools like CounterPoint POS, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
· Comfortable working with diverse populations and committed to inclusion.
Additional Requirements
· Must be 18 years or older.
- Must pass required background checks.
· Proficient in English (spoken and written).
· Spanish fluency preferred.
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED
· Computer and related software, telephone, e-mail, copiers and equipment commonly found in an office environment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
· Primarily based at Girl Scout DreamLab (Denver), with occasional travel across the Denver Metro area.
· Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and variable days off. DreamLab hours: Tuesday-Thursday 11:00am-7:30pm, Friday & Saturday 10:00 am-7:30 pm, Sunday 12:00 pm-6:00 pm, closed Mondays.
· Regularly engage with the public; occasional desk and screen work.
· Frequently:
o Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
o Involves engaging with the public for most of the time, with the occasional periods of working at a desk and in front of a screen.
· Occasionally: May be required to transport Girl Scout materials weighing up to 30 pounds with or without assistance.
· This position requires extended periods of viewing electronic screens.
